Gamma Irradiation

Almost all of our diets can be gamma-
irradiated for use in barrier facilities.
Irradiated diets are “double-bagged” inside
our standard double-walled corrugated
carton.

Some of our stock diets are available
irradiated (10-20 kGy) at standard prices.

Other diets are irradiated per order at an additional cost
depending on quantity and lead-time. We send diets for
irradiation weekly to respond quickly to your requests.

There is an additional charge for gamma irradiation. Specify “irradiation” on your purchase order.

Irradiation Prices

Regular Service (approximately 10 additional working days after production):
$125 per order or $1.00/kg, whichever is greater.

Rush Service (3-5 additional working days after production): $900

Causes minimal nutritional damage to the formulated diet
Extends shelf- life of the diet by decreasing microbial load
Does not affect the palatability of the animal diet
